The surprise winner in the 2023 Kentucky Derby is Mage bringing trainer Gustavo Delgado and jockey Javier Castellano, both natives of Venezuela, their first win in the Run for the Roses.
Due to a scratch Rich Strike move from alternate status to the last colt in the 2022 Kentucky Derby winning under Lonny Leon and with the second-highest odds at 80-1 for a Derby winner.
